The modern day world of seemingly endless private signings and mass produced "exclusive" player items has in the minds of many collectors fostered an even greater appreciation for true vintage signed pieces of baseball memorabilia. Here is one such treasure from baseball's golden age penned by Boston's one and only "Splendid Splinter" during the later portion of his remarkable playing career. The Official American League (Harridge) baseball is beautifully inscribed "Best Wishes Ted Williams 1958" (10/10) in blue ink on a side panel. All of the official ball markings are light but still clearly legible and the ball retains much of its original white brilliance. Vintage single signed Ted Williams baseballs are quite rare and are virtually non-existent in the marketplace. This is a particularly spectacular vintage Williams single which connoisseurs of single signed baseballs will no doubt distinguish both in value and desirability from its modern era counterparts.
