The Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Mets never competed in the same season. Thats because the Brooklyn Dodgers moved to Los Angeles in 1958 and the New York Mets didnt debut as a major league franchise until 1962. Despite the factoid that didnt stop the nine players featured on this multi-signed baseball from playing on both teams. And interestingly enough the baseball they all signed in blue ink is actually an official American League (Cronin) Reach baseball not a National League stamped ball. Of the nine players one is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame: Duke Snider. And Gil Hodges who also managed the Mets graces the sweet spot. The remaining seven players who signed the baseball were all successful competitors themselves including Don Zimmer who went on to a long coaching career Roger Craig Charlie Neal Chico Fernandez Clem Labine Joe Pignatano and Bob Aspromonte. A very unique piece of authentic baseball memorabilia representing ties between two different National League ball clubs.
