The 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup the third edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup was held in the United States and won by the host team. The final between the U.S. women and China held on July 10 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena California was the most-attended women's sports event in history with an official attendance of 90185. The final was scoreless after extra time and won by the U.S. in a penalty shootout. The United States Brandi Chastain scored the fifth and deciding penalty kick goal following the overtime session. This lot includes various singed and game-worn items commemorating that teams momentous victory. The first piece is a team-signed red-white-and-black Nike T90 soccer ball signed by six members of the 99 U.S. Womens soccer team including Chastain Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy. The second item is a single-signed Nike T90 soccer ball autographed by just Chastain who added the special inscription: Dreams Do Come True! Lastly this lot includes a pair of Reebok black-and-white soccer cleats belonging to Foudy. The size 5 ½ cleats both sport Foudys signature on their respective heels in black marker along with her uniform number 11. A great collection of signed soccer memorabilia commemorating the U.S. Womens National Soccer Teams greatest season!
