Floyd Mayweather Jr. retired after defeating Andre Berto in September 2015 ending his nearly 20-year career with a 49-0 record matching Rocky Marciano's all-time record. One of the world's highest-paid athletes of his generation “Money Mayweather” has made a compelling case for his own self-proclaimed title as the greatest pond-for-pound boxer of all-time.
Offered here are two pairs of used and autographed hand wraps that were given directly to our consignor by Floyd himself. Our consignor enjoyed both a professional and personal relationship with the flamboyant boxer between 2006 and 2009. It was during that period that these wraps were gifted by Floyd along with the boxing shoes and gloves also featured in this auction (lots 550 & 552). All of these items were stated as being fight worn at the time they were presented. Each wrap shows appropriate usage wear and has been signed by Mayweather in black sharpie.
Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
Provenance: This lot originates from a gentleman who has enjoyed a long and successful career in Hollywood as an agent for many well-known athletes and entertainers. His professional and personal network enabled him to amass a significant collection of memorabilia nearly all of which was given to him directly from the athletes and entertainers themselves. All of these items are being introduced to the marketplace here for the first time. While our consignor remains anonymous SCP Auctions will issue an LOA for each game used item attesting to its player-direct provenance.
Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method.
