The seventh player elected to the Hall of Fame Tris Speaker's plaque there is inscribed "greatest centerfielder of his day." The first half of 22-year career was spent in Boston where he established himself amongst the premier players of the era. A contract dispute and falling out with Boston owner Joseph Lannin forced a trade to Cleveland in 1916. For the next eleven years he averaged .354 and in 1920 he piloted the Indians to their first World Series title while batting .388 and cracking 50 doubles. He was player-manager for the Indians for part of 1919 and the following seven full seasons. Offered here is a black ink signed photo postcard of Hall of Famer Tris Speaker from his time as a coach for the Cleveland Indians. Clean unused postcard has a crystal clear image. EX-MT with some minor soiling front and back. Some slight smudging is evident but not distracting.
