“Life's Magic” was a thoroughbred racehorse that competed from 1983 to 1985 and won eight races during that time span. She was also atwo-time Eclipse Award winner. Owner by Eugene V. Klein Life's Magic was conditioned for racing by future U.S. Racing Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas who went on to win more Breeders' Cup races than any other trainer in history. This lot features a trio of trophies earned by the filly during the 1980’s.

The first trophy is a silver plated teapot that Klein was awarded following Life’s Magic’s victorious run at the 1984 Mother Goose Stakes. Racing at Belmont Park in Elmont New York Life’s Magic took the one-mile-and-one-eighth race with a winning time of 1:48.80. The decorative teapotstands 11.5 inches high and measures five inches in diameter at its base.

The second trophy is a 14-inch-tall two-handled sterling silver hallmarked trophy (1260 grams) that celebrates Life’s Magic’s victory at the 1984 Monmouth Oaks Racetrack in Oceanport New Jersey. Covering the one-mile-and-one-eighth dirt track distance in 1:50.00 to best the field. The trophy is engraved on the front with the following text: “THE MONMOUTH OAKS Monmouth Park WON BY LIFE’S MAGIC July 21 1984.”

The third award is actually a serving tray (1276g) with the sterling silver lion's symbol on the bottom that measures 5.5 inches high and 12 inches in diameter. It was awarded to Life’s Magic’s team following her victory at the 1985 Shuvee Handicap race at Belmont Park. Covering a distance of one mile and a sixteenth Life’s Magic won the race with a time of 1:42.40. Her jockey in all three victories was Jorge Velasquez.
