As a one-and-done diaper dandy at the University of Oklahoma TraeYoung personified the new wave of offensive-minded point guards inspiredby Steph Curry that shoot with no conscience and are always looking topush the pace. As a freshman the Sooners' 6’ 2” floor general became thefirst player in NCAA history to lead the nation in both points andassists (total and per game). Now the Atlanta Hawks rookieextraordinaire has his sights set on NBA’s Rookie of the Year and he’soff to a torrid start averaging almost 17 points and 8.3 assists pergame in his 2018-19 debut season. With unlimited range and a fitting first name the sky's the limit for this young cat.
Presented here are two full uniforms Trae wore in prep tournaments during his high school years before stepping on the OU campus for his lone season of college ball. The first is his AAU squad Mokan Elite (Missouri) with whom he starred alongside fellow prep star Michael Porter Jr. It dates to his junior and senior seasons of high school (2016-17). Thegray Nike mesh jersey with red and navy trim has "MOKAN" and his No. "11" screen-printed onthe front in navy outlined in red. His numberappears on the reverse in the same format. The shirt looks to be properlytagged on the left front tail in size M. The matching gray Nike size M whiteshorts have some de-threading in the waistband from use. Both articles have the EYBL league logo and show appropriate wear overall.
The second is Young's 2017 Jordan Brand Classic game worn uniform dating to the end of his senior season. The white jersey has a "W" [West] and "3" plus the Nike Jumpman logo sewn on the front in gold. The back has a black Jordan Brand Classic patch at the top with "YOUNG" and his uniform number "3" sewn on below in gold. The matching white Nike shorts have the Jumpman logo on each side. The jersey (size 46) and shorts (size 36) seem to be properly tagged on the interior. The two sets come straight from Trae Young. These are two of the earliest game worn unis sported by Trae Young to be offered publicly. The kid couldvery well turn out to be an NBA superstar.
