In 1992, former San Diego Padres’ great Tony Gwynn was named to his eighth of 15 MLB All-Star Game appearances. Making this event special was the fact that it was being played in Gwynn’s home ballpark: Jack Murphy Stadium. Although he went 0-for-2 on the day and the N.L. All-Stars lost the game, 13-6, Gwynn did receive this impressive set of black Bushnell binoculars for making the team. The binoculars are housed inside a black leather carrying case that also includes a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses as well as a Panasonic AM-FM transistor radio complete with head phones. On the top of the carrying case is a specially engraved black plaque that reads: “TONY GWYNN 1992 All Star Game San Diego July 14, 1992.†The front of the case sports the National League logo in white.

A portion of the proceeds generated by the Tony Gwynn Collection will be donated to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation. The TAG Foundation is a non-profit, 5013(c) charity dedicated to creating and supporting programs that enhance opportunities for youth to become healthy, educated, and productive citizens.
