During the course of his 17-year MLB career spent entirely with the Colorado Rockies slugging first baseman Todd Helton launched 369 home runs and batted a steady .316 while knocking in 1406 runs. He retired following the 2013 season as the franchise leader in almost every offensive category so he should certainly be up for Cooperstown consideration in two short years. This lot features a foursome of Helton’s batting practice and game-worn equipment including his 2007 Colorado Rockies BP jersey from a season in which the Rockies battled all the way to the World Series behind Helton’s timely hitting (17 homers 91 RBI and .320 BA).
The Russell Athletic black polyester pullover batting practice jersey exhibits plenty of wear and reads “ROCKIES” across the front in ironed-on silver purple and white letters and sports his ironed-on uniform number “17” in gray outlined in purple on the back. The purple white and black MLB embroidered logo patch is located on the outside rear collar.
Next up is Helton’s Colorado Rockies game-used batting helmet (size 7 3/8) that includes the team’s “CR” decaled emblem on the front. His number “17” decal only shows the number “1” as the “7” has been lost to time but the outline of the second number remains. Made by American Baseball Cap the helmet is largely scuffed with paint transfers and even a baseball contact mark still showing. His last name appears in white on a small decal on the top of the helmet’s bill. The year worn is unknown but it appears to be from the early-to-mid 2000's.
From the 2004 season one in which Helton batted an impressive .347with 32 home runs is his game used and cracked black Mizunoprofessional model bat. The 34-inch piece of hard-hitting lumber showssubstantial use with contact marks in the barrel and dried pine tarscattered throughout the handle. The cracked portion stretches 15 incheslong.
Also from the 2004 season is Helton’s game-worn Colorado Rockies New Era baseball cap (size 7 ½). Showing substantial wear the two-tone cap includes the team’s “CR” emblem embroidered in purple and silver on the front and an American flag embroidered on the left. The purple white and black MLB embroidered logo patch is located on the outside rear.
Includes 4 COA's from the Colorado Rockies one for each item.
