Jurickson Profar from Curacao was called up in 2012 at the age of 19 and made an immediate splash. A shortstop by trade he made his Major League debut on Sept. 2 starting at second base for an injured Ian Kinsler and launched a home run in his first MLB at bat. He played half the season in 2013 and missed all of 2014 after undergoing shoulder surgery. With Kinsler now gone he is expected to be the starting second baseman in 2015.
