The first time "Terrible" Terry Norris got the taste of being a champion was December 9 1988 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. He faced a fellow American named Steve Little for the NABF (North American Boxing Federation) Light-Middleweight title. Norris was just making a name for himself in the boxing world coming into the fight with a record of 19-2 and five straight wins in 1988. In the 6th round Norris threw a vicious right hand to knock out Little and claim the vacant NABF crown. Established by the World Boxing Council (WBC) in 1969 NABF title holders are not officially recognized by the International Boxing Hall of Fame yet many of the best all-time fighters have reigned as champions within its storied history.

Featured here are Terry Norris' fight-worn gloves from his NABF Light-Middleweight Championship victory. Each red leather Cleto Reyes brand glove has been notated presumably right after the fight "Terrible Terry Norris - NABF Champ - Round 6" in faded black pen. This notation is much more legible on the right glove than the left. More recently Norris signed each '8-oz.' tagged glove in bold 10/10 black marker with the inscription "WBC IBF Champ". These gloves show excellent use with some discoloration over the wrists from the tape and plenty of pounding. The laces are missing. Other than that they come problem-free from Norris' personal collection.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

Includes a Letter of Authenticity from "Terrible" Terry Norris.

Terrible Terry Norris certainly lived up to his nickname as a boxer but outside the ring is another story. A few years ago he and his wife Tanya started the Final Fight Foundation whose mission is to serve as a catalyst for the under-served athletes in health and retirement assistance during and after their careers. Norris now suffers from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) Parkinsonism and Dementia brought on by years in the ring. A portion of the proceeds from his collection will go towards his foundation.
