With apologies to Carl Yastrzemski two more important names in Boston Red Sox lore than Baseball Hall of Famers Ted Williams and Bobby Doerr would be tough to find. The late Williams a two-time American League MVP and the last MLB batter ever to crack the .400 plateau and Doerr the scrappy second baseman who patrolled Fenway Park’s infield from 1937 to 1951 were two of the most beloved players to ever don a Red Sox uniform.
This lot features a pair of individually signed Mitchell & Ness Cooperstown Collection Boston Red Sox replica jerseys from the two diamond legends. The Williams’ jersey size XL is sporting the embroidered 1939 “Baseball Centennial” patch on its left sleeve while the Doerr jersey size L is boasting the “American League Golden Anniversary” patch (1901 – 1951) on its left sleeve. Both Williams and Doerr have signed their respective jerseys across the left chest area in fine-point blue marker. Both signatures remain extremely bold and the jersey are in like-new condition.
