This Type 1 image depicts Lou Gehrig on the field during his historic 1934 Triple Crown season. Gehrig was on fire that season, starting off by hitting his 300th home run in April, becoming just the second man after Babe Ruth to reach that plateau. Through the rest of the summer, Lou’s stat line is fantastic: 49 home runs, 166 RBIs, and a .363 batting average, each one top in the American League, and giving him his one and only Triple Crown. The Iron Horse gazes confidently into the camera, his Louisville Slugger poised on his shoulder, ready for action. The Type 1 photo has been printed to its edge. The reverse of the photo features several handwritten notations in ink and pencil, as well as a “July 28, 1934” date stamp, which places it in the middle of Gehrig’s Triple Crown season. The photo has been encapsulated by PSA and graded a Type 1 Authentic.

Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method. If you would like your items shipped in a different method, such as UPS/FedEx Next Day or UPSFedEx 2-Day, you must contact our Post Sale Services Manager Veronica Rodriguez by emailing customerservice@scpauctions.com to discuss alternative shipping instructions. Prior to bidding, please be aware of estimated shipping costs, especially for large or heavy lots.
