Featured from the Steve Sax Collection are two really nice looking balls from the 1986 All star NL and AL teams. Each ball has mild toning and are both chock full of amazing signatures.
The '86 NL ball features Hall of Famers, Whitey Herzog, Gary Carter, Tim Raines, Ryne Sandberg and Tony Gwynn. Noteables include, Mike Scot, Darryl Strawberry and Fernando Valenzuela. Steve Sax is also featured!
The '86 AL ball features Hall of Famers, Rickey Henderson, Cal Ripken Jr., Eddie Murray, Dave Winfield, Wade Boggs, Harold Baines, Kirby Puckett and George Brett. Noteables include Roger Clemens, Don Mattingly, Lance Parrish, Don Mattingly and Lou Whitaker.
This lot comes with full LOAs from PSA/DNA for each ball and a letter from Steve Sax.
A portion of the auction proceeds from all items sold in the Steve Sax Collection will benefit the foundation named for Steve’s son, John, who was one of five U.S. Marines killed in a training flight accident in June 2022 in the California desert. The Capt. John J. Sax Foundation “serves to support those who choose to further their education, exploration and passion for flight."
Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method. If you would like your items shipped in a different method, such as UPS/FedEx Next Day or UPSFedEx 2-Day, you must contact our Post Sale Services Manager Veronica Rodriguez by emailing customerservice@scpauctions.com to discuss alternative shipping instructions.
