Presented are two outstanding team signed balls from the 1982 and 1983 NL All-Star teams from Steve Sax's personal collection. Each ball exhibits minor toning but both balls are filled with amazing quality signatures from each year's respective all star teams.
The '82 ball features Hall of Famers, Mike Schmidt, Tim Raines, Duke Snider, Phil Niekro, Ozzie Smith, Andre Dawson, Gary Carter and Tommy Lasorda. Noteables include, Fernando Valenzuela, Dale Murphy, Dusty Baker and Chuck Tanner. Steve Sax is also featured!
The '83 ball features Hall of Famers, Whitey Herzog, Johnny Bench, Andre Dawson, Mike Schmidt, Tim Raines, Joe Torre, and Ozzie Smith. Noteables include, Fernando Valenzuela and Dale Murphy. Steve Sax is also featured!
This lot comes with full LOAs from PSA/DNA for each ball and a letter from Steve Sax.
A portion of the auction proceeds from all items sold in the Steve Sax Collection will benefit the foundation named for Steve’s son, John, who was one of five U.S. Marines killed in a training flight accident in June 2022 in the California desert. The Capt. John J. Sax Foundation “serves to support those who choose to further their education, exploration and passion for flight."
Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method. If you would like your items shipped in a different method, such as UPS/FedEx Next Day or UPSFedEx 2-Day, you must contact our Post Sale Services Manager Veronica Rodriguez by emailing customerservice@scpauctions.com to discuss alternative shipping instructions.
