Beautiful PSA Full AUTHENTIC $15.00 ticket to the September 7 1892 World Heavyweight Championship fight between legendary Champion John L. Sullivan and challenger "Gentleman Jim" Corbett held at the Olympic Club in New Orleans Louisiana under electrically illuminated lights before 10000 fans. The younger Corbett was much faster than Sullivan and used as more skilled boxing technique in contrast to the Champion's crouch and rush style. In the 21st round Corbett landed a thunderous left that knocked the Champ to the canvas. He was counted out and Corbett named the new World's Heavyweight Champion. When Sullivan finally did get to his feet he announced to the assembled crowd "If I had to get licked I'm glad I was licked by an American." Crease free full ticket itself displays VG-EX with rounding at the corners. Pretty clean both front and back with a little soiling around the edges. 3 cancellation holes punched neatly at the lower right hand corner. Amazing piece of Boxing History!
