This home Yankees jersey was worn by Mike Mussina in the team's final game ever played at Old Yankee Stadium on September 21, 2008. It was also the last time the soon-to-be-inducted Hall of Famer would don the iconic pinstripes in front of the Bronx faithful as Mussina would retire at the end of the season. In 2008, the star pitcher won 20 games for the first time in his Major League career and had one of his finest overall seasons with a 3.37 ERA.
The size 48 Majestic jersey features the iconic interlocking "NY" logo and Mussina’s “35” on the back. The jersey also features two special patches: one commemorating the 2008 All-Star Game (right sleeve) and one honoring Yankee Stadium’s final season (left sleeve). The jersey includes an MLB authentic holographic sticker affixed to the tagging (LH176004). Though Mussina did not pitch that day, the authentication number validates that he wore this jersey on September 21, 2008 during the final game at Yankee stadium. An additional "Game Used" hologram sticker from Steiner (70997) is affixed to the tagging. The shirt shows appropriate light wear.
