Kenesaw Mountain Landis served as baseball's first Commissioner from 1920 until his death in 1944, a towering figure who both restored public trust following the Black Sox Scandal and imposed an iron-fisted control over the sport.

 

Landis signatures are among the rarest in all of baseball collecting, and this ONL baseball is an exceptional example — signed and personally inscribed in ink reading "World Series - Pittsburgh Oct. 13, 1925," documenting his presence at Game 7 of the 1925 Fall Classic between the Pirates and Washington Senators. The leather has aged to a warm cream tone consistent with its 100-year-old provenance, and the inscription and signature remain legible. Authenticated by JSA with a Letter of Authenticity. A one-of-a-kind artifact connecting the collector to a pivotal moment in World Series history, inscribed in the hand of the man who presided over it.
