Scarce large version 1948 Cleveland Indians World Series Press pin shaped like an arrowhead features "WORLD SERIES CLEVELAND 1948" in gold on white with "INDIANS in gold on black and a large image of Chief Wahoo in red black and white at the center. In 1948 the Indians finished in a first place tie with the Boston Red Sox both with 96 wins. The Indians defeated the Red Sox in a one game play-off 8-3 to advance to the World Series against the National League Champion Boston Braves. The Indians took the World Series Championship 4 games to 2 with the pitching of Bob Lemon Steve Gromek and Gene Bearden leading the way. Hall of Famer Bob Feller would lose the only 2 World Series starts of his magnificent career. Pin measures 1 3/4" tall and 1 1/4" wide. Beautiful NM or better looking condition!
