This lot features the game issued/ready jerseys of the San Francisco 49ers two greatest quarterbacks whose careers overlapped in the early 1990's. The first is a road jersey of legendary Hall of Famer Joe Montana from the 1990 season. The white mesh jersey has Montana’s number “16” on the front back and shoulders in red tackle twill with sleeves trimmed with red appliqué stripes. A size 46 Wilson label is stitched in the lower left front tail with a “CV” and “46” hand tag affixed. The back has “MONTANA” in red tackle twill letters on a white mesh name plate. The clean jersey has several loose threads and light puckering to the tackle twill but there is no visible evidence of game use. Getty 90506186 has a nice style match.

The second jersey is a home version of Montana's former backup turned superstar Steve Young from the 1999 season. The red mesh jersey has Young’s number “8” on the front back and shoulders in gold white and black tackle twill. An appliqué 49ers logo and stripes ring each sleeve opening. An Adidas label is sewn in the lower left front tail with a size “44” hang tag affixed. The back has “YOUNG” across the shoulders in white gold and black tackle twill on a red mesh name plate. Steve Young has signed the “8” in the back in black marker. The clean jersey shows little to no wear. It comes with outstanding provenance from the personal collection ofDave Rahn the 49ers former Director of Operations who passed away in2014. Rahn was very close with Young during his tenure.

Includes letter of provenance from Dave Rahn’s widow. Young autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
