From 1997 to 2007 the San Diego Chargers football team competed in the AFC West and always were in contention. This lot features three different game-used cleats from three of the team’s mainstays from that time period - Rodney Harrison Antonio Cromartie and Shane Olivea – and a single game-used cleat from the late great Hall of Fame linebacker Junior Seau. The white blue and silver pair of Nike cleats (size 12.5) belonging to the hard-hitting Harrison show solid game use with chunks of field dirt embedded on the actual cleats and include Harrison’s trademark “37” on both heels. They were manufactured on March 27 2000 which means he likely wore the pair during the Bolts’ 2001 campaign. Harrison playing at strong safety collected a team-leading 90 tackles that season and picked off a pair of passes.

The second pair of cleats belonging to Cromartie are Nike Air (size 12) branded and sport a compelling blue/silver/white color way. Cromartie’s’ uniform number “31” appears on both heels. Manufactured on Dec. 12 2006 they show scuff marks dirt marks and even dried blood and were likely worn by the cornerback during parts of the ’06 and ’07 seasons in which San Diego posted a combined record of 25-7. The third complete pair of game-used Nike Air Zoom cleats (size 14) belonged to defensive tackle Vaughn Parker and were manufactured on Feb. 10 2000 which means they were likely worn during the ’01 season. The blue-and-white cleats both sport embroidered Nike swooshes (blue and silver) and include clumps of dirt embedded in the cleats. Parker's uniform number "70" appears on both heels.

The final cleat in question a solo shoe belong to Seau is also a Nike Air Zoom model but sports a white and black color scheme. Exhibiting exceptional game use the pair includes Seau’s iconic “55” embroidered in black on the top of the tongue. The shoe manufactured on Feb. 4 1997 was worn by Seau during the ’98 season and includes a pair of Nike swooshes embroidered in silver on the heel. In 1998 Seau led the Bolts in tackles with 92 andrecorded 3.5 sacks.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the San Diego Hall of Champions.
