Trio of items commemorating Sammy Sosa highlighted by his game-worn batting glove used to hit the 498th home run of his career. The glove is displayed between an 8 x 10 signed photo and a Chicago Cubs game ticket from the historic 1998 season all in a beautiful 17" by 23.5" burgundy frame. The Fila signature model batting glove is black and white colored with the '21 SOSA' logo stamped to the pointer finger. Sosa has signed the white section in slightly smeared blue pen with a "HR 498" inscription. Home run #498 was a solo shot off Pirates pitcher Salomon Torres and gave Sosa 48 for the season (he finished with 49). Sosa's signature rates 9-10/10 on the photo which shows three stages of Sosa's powerful swing. The ticket is not from Sosa's 498th career home run game; rather it is from a 9/25/1998 road game against the Houston Astros. Slammin' Sammy blasted his 66th and final round-tripper of the season (career #273) off Astros starter Jose Lima. Both he and Mark McGwire surpassed Roger Maris' then single-season record of 61 during their memorable home run chase of 1998.
