Ron Cey recorded 1,868 career hits, with over 1,800 of these coming in the National League with the Dodgers and Cubs. Cey joined the American League and the Oakland Athletics for his final season, and recorded his first AL hit on April 13, 1987 in a game against the Minnesota Twins. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Cey singled off Twins starter Frank Viola. This is the ball that he hit. Cey's A's beat the Twins 6-3. Accompanied by an LOA from Cey as part of the Cey Collection in this auction.
