This is a great piece from a legendary figure from baseball's Golden Age in the 1950's and 1960's. Though best known by casual fans for his pursuit and eventual breaking of Babe Ruth's historic home run record of 60 round trippers in 1927 Maris was even more revered by his colleagues and baseball historians as a gritty fierce competitor who despite his individual accomplishments was a classic team-first player. This amazing baseball boasts a black marker Maris autograph on the sweet spot only minimally faded with the passage of more than 30 years. The ball is a Rawlings Official 1982 All-Star Game Kuhn simply spectacular in condition virtually no toning and only the tiniest of nicks on one panel.
