Offered here is important Super Bowl XXXVII game-worn jersey from legendary defensive back Rod Woodson an 11-time Pro Bowler in 17 NFL seasons. He holds the NFL record for interception returns for touchdowns (12) and was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1993. His 71 career interceptions is the third-most in NFL history. In 2009 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on his very first ballot. 2002 was another banner year for Woodson as he anchored the Oakland Raiders secondary with a league best 8 interceptions two of which he returned for touchdowns. He also recovered three fumbles and made 70 tackles from the free safety position. It was his final Pro Bowl honor and one well-deserved as he helped Raider Nation get to the Super Bowl where they were soundly defeated by Tampa Bay.
The jersey is a lightweight white micro-mesh with white ribbed knit sleeve ends V-neck collar and spandex rib section. Woodson's famed No. 26 appears front and back and on the shoulders in the iconic Raiders silver and black; "R. Woodson" appears on the back in black tackle twill on a white nameplate. The colorful Super Bowl XXXVII embroidered patch is affixed to the left breast and the iconic NFL logo patch is affixed to the bottom of the V neck. The Reebok embroidered logo patch appears above the numerals on both sleeves. The jersey shows game use and is essentially as-issued and problem free.
