In 1993 Pittsburgh Steelers seventh-year cornerback extraordinaire Rod Woodson was named the NFL Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press. The numbers from that season would certainly back up the APs distinction for Woodson. Not only did he record 95 tackles but he led the league in interceptions with eight. He also returned one of the INTS for a touchdown made two sacks and recovered a fumble for good measure. In a word Woodson was everywhere that season. This lot includes Woodsons NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. Sporting a circular glass piece that measures 23 around the trophy stand is made up of a two-toned marbleized looking base that measures 10 wide by 6 ¼ high. The circular piece of etched glass is emblazoned in gold with the NFL logo at the top and the following words below it: NFL Most Valuable Defensive Player Rod Woodson 1993. The glass piece then slips into an opening at the top of the marbleized looking base.
