Gridiron Hall of Famer Rod Woodson was one of the best defensive backs in league history. He played 17 seasons of hard-hitting football for four different teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers San Francisco 49ers Baltimore Ravens and Oakland Raiders. This lot features a group of five game balls Woodson was awarded during his tenure with the Steelers between 1992 and 94. The first Special Teams painted game ball was earned by Woodson following Pittsburghs 27-10 win over the New York Jets on Sept. 13 1992 in which Woodson recorded a sack. The second "Special Teams" game ball was awarded to the DB following a 27-3 blowout of the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 25 1992 in which Woodson ran back an interception for an 80-yard touchdown. The third painted "Defense" game ball was awarded to Woodson following a 17-14 win over the Detroit Lions in which Woodson tallied a forced fumble a fumble recovery and a sack. Woodson earned the fourth painted game ball after the Steelers beat up the New Orleans Saints 37-14 on October 17 1993. The fifth and final game ball which is stamped in black was earned by Woodson after the Steelers trounced the Raiders 21-3 on November 27 1994.
