Addendum: Rawlings dating code gives this glove a June 1990 manufacturing date.

Hall of Famer Robin Yount embodied the spirit of a baseball era when the game produced true hometown heroes. In 1974 Yount was one of the youngest to ever make his MLB debut at the tender age of 18. He is still the youngest player in MLB history to hit a home run. “The Kid" gave the Milwaukee Brewers everything he had for 20 outstanding seasons. In today’s game with free-agency and impatient front offices loyalty and reliability hard to come by. A member of the elite 3000 hit club he played a steady shortstop for the first half of his career and won the AL Gold Glove in 1982 his first of two MVP seasons. In the mid-80’s Yount transitioned seamlessly to centerfield and continued putting up great numbers offensively. Few have been able to take on the two most physically demanding positions on the field with as much grace and natural ability as Robin. Featured here is Yount’s game-used Rawlings fielder’s glove from circa 1990 around the time Robin won his second AL MVP award (’89) a remarkable piece of leather from his personal collection.

The “PRO-CFC” professional model glove is made of top-grade Horween leather and features a Triple T Barwebbing with a fleece-lined wriststrap. The red Rawlings manufacturer's label appears over the outer wrist strap with thecircle R logo on top of the thumb. Yount's uniform number “19” is penned in faded black on the larger Rawlings label. His No. “19” is also penned in black on the outer webbing. Along the inner pinkie is the model number "PRO-CFC” with “FOR THE Professional PLAYER" stamped below. Rawlings is labeled on the base of the pocket. The greater pocket area is heavily stained with use hiding any other internal stampings. The outer pinkie is stamped “GOLD GLOVE SERIES” with a manufacturing date code of “EEH01”. Based on Rawlings’ unique coding system this equates to June 1990. All manufacturing imprints are done in black. Yount has autographed the outer webbing in lovely 9/10 black marker. The outfielder’s mitt shows a tremendous amount of use with the leather heavily worn discolored and scuffed inside and out. Considering how particular and attached ballplayers are to their gloves we can be sure that this one was a favorite of Yount’s. Awsome glove from Milwaukee’s most beloved Brewer.

LOA from Robin Yount. Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
