Roberto Clemente was the first Latin American player to win a World Series as a starter (1960) the first to win a league MVP award (1966) and the first to be named World Series MVP (1971). In addition to wining two World Series Clemente collected 12 Gold Gloves and four batting titles and was selected to 12 All-Star teams. He was posthumously elected to the Hall of Fame in 1973 the only modern player whose mandatory five-year waiting period was waived. This 10K gold size 11 ring commemorates Clementes career with his number 21 cast in gold on the top panel with 21 inlaid diamonds. ROBERTO CLEMENTE and his years of play 1955 to 1972 are cast around the 21 on this top panel. The left panel of the ring is devoted to his hitting prowess with his career total of 3000 HITS cast above an image of a baseball bat with the words BATTING TITLES underneath along with the years of his four batting titles 1961 1964 1965 and 1967. His career batting average is below this inscribed as .317 B.A.. The right panel has his name ROBERTO CLEMENTE above 1966 MVP. Below that is a casting of his glove underneath which are inscribed the words 12 GOLD GLOVES. This is a limited edition ring which is numbered 017/200 as an inscription on the inside of the ring where LGB 10K is also inscribed. The ring is essentially as-issued and problem-free condition.
