Four swings four home runs. In the World Series no less. A whole bunch of folks have gone bust theorizingabout sports records that might never be broken but you cant help but suspect that this one will - atthe very least - be around for a very long time. This 1977 New York Yankees road jersey and pants were wornby none other than Reggie Jackson as he smacked a seemingly inconsequential home run off fellow Hall ofFamer Don Sutton in the eighth inning of a 10-4 loss to the Dodgers at Chavez Ravine in Game Five of the1977 World Series. The game of course was very consequential for the Dodgers since it kept them alivefor another day a mere three days later back at Yankee Stadium. Thats when Reggie took three more swingsthat turned into three more historic home runs. And this Size 44 Wilson-tagged beauty (and pants) startedthe bell rolling (or flying as it were) and made it four-for-four. The jersey with Jackson 77 1 embroideredon the collar is nothing less than superb showing good game use but otherwise problem free. Ideal usagewear can be seen on the letters on the front and his number 44 on the back; the pants are similarly idealand problem-free with Wilson tagging and embroidery of 33 and Jackson 77 / 24 along the waist. Thejersey includes considerable paperwork that provides details concerning the provenance of the jersey andpants including its initial entry into the hobby from legendary clubhouse manager Pete Sheehy. Presentlyoriginating from Reggie Jacksons personal collection it comes with a signed LOA from Reggie himself.
