Featured here is a group of collectibles from “The Fight of the Century” between Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali derived from the Red Holzman Collection. Red’s three ticket stubs, the official program and lineup sheet also come with seven ticket stubs from other championship fights that took place in the 1980's at Madison Square Garden.
The 8.5 x 11 official program from March 8, 1971 is in NM-MT condition in our opinion. The brightly colored Leroy Nieman cover still pops and all the binding and pages are intact. The program contains several illustrations, photos and vintage advertisements from the era along with the pertinent information that spectators needed to know about the big fight.
The lineup sheet contains all of the night’s preliminary fights leading up to the 15 round main event between Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali.
Two of the three tickets from the fight of the century are in GD condition and one is torn in half and POOR. The seven other championship boxing ticket stubs all appear to be in the VG-EX to EX range and include the following headliners: (2) Davey Moore vs Roberto Duran, (2) Marvelous Marv Hagler vs. Thomas Hearns, (2) Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Roberto Duran and (1) Larry Holmes vs. Gerry Cooney
