The old bromide about "Don't judge a book by it's cover" gets a slight adjustment here to something like "Don't judge a book by its dust cover." Red Grange's book "Zuppke of Illinois" could hardly be found in better condition given its 1937 publishing date. With a handsome Grange 8/10 autograph on the opening page and inscription "To D.C. Wray Sincerely" and his signature and 20-11-37 date in his hand the book is in essentially Ex-Mt or even better condition with only the slighted tinges of wear visible front and back covers and virtually as-issued and problem free inside including the dozens of sepia-toned photographs and line drawings. The dust jacket could likely be described as poor with multiple tears fraying and some paper loss but if the goal was to protect the book itself it succeeded admirably.
