Featured is a rare and iconic photograph of Babe Ruth shaking Ty Cobb's hand on opening day of the 1927 MLB season. An important year for the Babe who smashed 60 bombs during the season that also included the Murderer's Row lineup that would dominate the league and eventually win the World Series. The photo features two of the most important and iconic players to ever play the game. Ruth in his prime and Cobb in his Philadelphia A's jacket during his twilight.
There are less than 5 type 1 photos of Ruth and Cobb together during their playing days in existence. The last photo to sell that featured the two legends was a 1920 example that sold privately for $125,000. This is a rare opportunity to own one of only a few original photos of these two pioneering baseball heroes together in one frame.
