Offered here is an ultra-rare and original Muhammad Ali Festival poster from 1967. This piece combines the most recognizable figure in the world with the 1960's rock scene. The San Francisco/Bay Area psychedelic poster advertised the free June 10 1967 MUHAMMAD ALI FESTIVAL at Hunter's Point that featured multiple outstanding bands including the Charlatans the Steve Miller Blues Band the Sonny Lewis Quintet Anonymous Artist of America and the Loading Zone. The poster states "Honoring Muhammad Ali Festival" although it was reported that the champ never showed up.
The rare poster is in terrific condition with no tears and only minimal creasing evident. It has been beautifully framed and matted into an overall presentation piece that measures 22 wide by 30 high. The frame includes an engraved plaque at the bottom that reads: Muhammad Ali Festival San Francisco 1967 Poster Only three such posters are known according to Christies Los Angeles.
