This game used San Diego Rockets jersey was worn by John Block during the team’s inaugural 1967-68 season and signed in black marker by 14 members of that first squad including Block Pat Riley (the Rockets first ever draft pick) Ty Britt John Barnhill Jim Barnett Jon McGlocklin Don Krojis Dave Gambee Hank Finkel Art Williams Bud Acton Toby Kimball trainer Barry Wyloge and coach Jack McMahon.
The shirt has been inscribed “Congratulations Bud 1968 Paddleball Champion From Your Friends - The San Diego ROCKETS”. A Bill Smith Sporting Goods label is sewn in the lower left front tail with a size “44” hang tag affixed. The jersey shows heavy use with toning throughout and puckering and fraying on the tackle twill graphics. Getty 590098428 appears to be a conclusive photo-match based on the puckering pattern in the number and letters.
A pair of 1969 season shorts featuring the special 1769-1969 San Diego 200th Anniversary patch. The shorts have Bill Smith Sporting Goods and Sand-Knit labels with a size “32” hang tag in the waistband. The shorts show moderate wear with light toning overall.
Includes a signed letter of provenance from the San Diego Hall of Champions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
