Despite being long-shot underdogs to the Barry Bonds-led Giants the 2002 Anaheim Angels won a hard-fought series that went the full seven games. Four of those games were decided by a single run and the series will always be remembered for the way the Angels battled back from a 5-run deficit in game 6 to snatch victory right out of the hands of the Giants. Rookie John Lackey slammed the door on San Fran in Game 7 winning the Halo’s very first World Championship. One of the guys who got the Angels to the top of the baseball world was pitcher Ramon Ortiz. The right-hander was the teams ace during the regular season winning a career high 16 games. He won the pivotal World Series Game 3 for Anaheim to give them a 2-1 series advantage.

Presented here is the ring presented to Ramon Ortiz after the Angel’s first and only World Championship in 2002. The face has a red ruby Angels “A” surrounded by a bed of sparkling dozens of individual cut diamonds. The perimeter proclaims “WORLD CHAMPIONS” in raised lettering. The left shank has “ANGELS FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP” above Edison Feld and the caps of both the Angels and Giants. The right shank has “ORTIZ” above “2002” and the World Series logo. The Angels season record of “99-63” is recorded below. The inside of the band is stamped with “INTERGOLD 14K”. Ring is size 10 and weighs 54 grams. It shows very little wear and comes in outstanding overall condition. Presentation box is not included. The ring comes directly from Ortiz's personal collection so this is its first time offered in the hobby. His World Series Game 3 worn jersey offered in Lot 358 would pair nicely with it.

Includes LOA from Ramon Ortiz.
