Ralph Kiner's career was relatively short (1946-55), but definitely sweet in what accomplished over a decade of MLB service. From his rookie season of 1946 through his final full season with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1952, the right-handed slugger led the National League in home runs each year. That's seven consecutive seasons. In fact, he blasted 234 long balls in a five-year span (47 per year), a level of power never-before-seen in the Senior Circuit.
This nice grouping of early Ralph Kiner Bowman releases includes his 1948 rookie and 1950 card in low-grade condition. The PR rating of each seems quite harsh based on each one's eye appeal. The third of the trio is a PSA NM 7 example of his 1952 Bowman #11 issue. Part of a lifelong Pirates fan's collection, the '48 rookie is hobby-fresh and other two haven't been offered in decades.
