Presentational swords are usually given as gifts by alumni to very distinguished V.I.P.’s. Because these are very rarely awarded to non-West Point alumni, they rarely if ever make their way to the collector’s market.
At some point, Pro Football Hall of Famer, Frank Gifford was given this as a gift for his immense support on the behalf of West Point.
