Although Pope Francis was an avowed soccer fan and loyal supporter of Argentine club San Lorenzo, he took time away from his Holy duties to sign this MLB baseball. Francis, who was head of the Catholic Church from 2013 until his death in 2025, has signed the sweet spot of this Rawlings Official Major League ball in blue ink. The ball’s leather is white and unblemished and resides on a black cloth base in a custom Fanatics wood box. Certainly one of the rarest and sought-after non-player single-signed baseballs in the hobby today. A Pope Francis autographed ball, signed on a side panel with the inscription “Francisco,” recently sold at auction for $18,750. This example is far superior and visually pleasing in the sweet spot placement of the Pontiff’s signature. The ball has a Fanatics hologram affixed and comes with a JSA LOA.

Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method.
