The great Pelè the world-renowned soccer player who brought Brazil its first World Cup title was a sought-after commodity who in 1975 signed a lucrative pro contract with the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League (NASL). This lot features a signed issue of Sports Illustrated magazine dated June 23 1975 that features Pelè on the cover. Entitled “Pelè’s Triumphant Debut” the issue’s cover story details his newfound destination as a member for the New York club. Still good condition the issue boasts Pele’s signature in black marker. It also includes a signed video game stats board that showcases Pelè. Measuring 16” wide by 21” high the shield-like stats board features Pelè’s signature in fine-point black marker just beneath his head shot.
