Golf at the turn of the last century was certainly gaining momentum but still decades away from the acclaim and notoriety it brings today. This lot includes a pair of classic trophies stemming from competitions that took place nearly 100 years ago. The first is a two-handled sterling silver beauty that measures 8.5 wide by 8 high and was awarded to the winner of the 1916 Lake Geneva Country Club Annual Invitational Tournament that was held from August 23 through 26 in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. Beautifully engraved across the front with the aforementioned information the trophy is also engraved across the back: Pleasant Hill Cup Won By. No actual winners name is engraved. The second trophy also two-handled is an artfully crafted sterling silver award that went to the 1920 P.N.G.A. Vancouver B.C. Amateur Champion Medalist. Again no winners name is engraved but the prestigious trophy measures 7 wide by 12 tall.

Includes Letter of Provenance form the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
