Three-time World Heavyweight Champion of the World Muhammad Ali was one of boxing’s greatest performers ever both in the ring and outside it. A consummate showman who trained incessantly Ali posted an overall record of 56-5 with 37 knockouts to his credit.This lot features a pair of signed 24” x 20” photographs of Ali showing him both working out as well as competing and defeating George Foreman in the famed “Thrilla in Manila” heavyweight title bout that was held on October 30 1974 in Kinshasa Zaire the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the highly publicized title fight Ali – employing his “Rope a Dope” strategy knocked a tiring Foreman out in the eighth round. The black-and-white training photo was signed with a blue marker and shows a sweaty Ali wearing a black Everlast head gear. The title fight color photo signed in silver shows Ali the challenger landing a devastating right to Foreman’s head in the championship bout’s pivotal eighth round. Both signatures have been graded as Gem Mint 10’s by PSA/DNA.
