Lovely pair of 1937 and 1938 New York Yankees World Series press pins featuring patriotic red-white-and-blue color motifs. Both are manufactured by Dieges & Clust and come with their functioning threaded back posts. The 1938 pin remains in fantastic shape (NM-MT/Mint) while the 1937 pin is shows some oxidation and tarnishing (EX/EX-MT). The late 1930's was the era of the Yankees firstgreat dynasty. Beginning in 1936, the Bronx Bombers, led by Lou Gehrig and newcomerJoe DiMaggio, won a then-record fourconsecutive World Championships. This is an impressive pre-war pairing from the middle of that incredible run.
Part of the Ossie Vitt Collection, it includes a letter from Vitt's grandson.
