During his time at the University of Cincinnati Oscar Robertson produced a string of statistics and records that made him the best collegiate athlete of the late 50’s. His finest season may have been as a junior when the Bearcats 6' 5" point guard scored 45 points 23 rebounds and 10 assists in a game against rival Indiana State. He was the NCAA’s leading scorer a first-team All-American and was named the Helms College Player of the Year the UPI Player of the Year and the Sporting News College Player of the Year. This trophy celebrates that unbelievable 1958-59 season with the University of Cincinnati.

For his efforts Sport Magazine named Oscar "Top Performer in College Basketball 1959" and awarded him this 10" by 15" wood-based plaque (weighing over 4 pounds) flanked by two gold-washed figurine eagles. A brass nameplate spells out the honor with his name engraved. Oscar has autographed the bottom of the wood base in bold black marker. The plaque shows some wear with one of the eagles more tarnished than the other. It has a rear wall mount hanger from how it was displayed in Oscar's home for many years. Includes LOA from Oscar Robertson.

PLEASE NOTE: Oscar will donate a portion of his auction proceeds to the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center and LeBow Institute for Myeloma Therapeutics at Dana Farber. This renowned cancer treatment center “provides comprehensive care to patients with multiple myeloma including promising new therapies through clinical trials rooted in an approach that brings laboratory discoveries quickly to the clinical setting” (https://www.dana-farber.org/multiple-myeloma-program).
