For nearly 70 years the Boston Garden served as the home of the Bruins and Celtics. Home to 21 Championships between the two storied franchises it became one of the most revered landmarks in New England. After the 1995 seasons the Historic Boston Garden was finally deemed obsolete. Upon its deconstruction the offered double seat was retrieved as a keepsake. This particular seat style with its original red paint curved backs comes from a floor section. This notion is further validated by the large section of the Garden’s original parquet floor to which they are affixed. Original Boston Gardens seats occasionally surface in the marketplace but are rarely seen with the additional feature of a large sampling of the most famous court surface in the history of basketball.  The seat backs have been signed by the two most famous Celtics respectively Larry Bird and Bill Russell though the siagature have faded somewhat. The occupants of these seats through the years witnessed some of the great moments in sports such as Orr’s “Flying Goal” in the 1970 Stanley Cup Finals and Game 7 of the 1965 NBA Eastern Conference Finals when “Havlicek stole the ball!”.  This Garden relic has been a fixture in the office of Peter Vecsey for many years and remain in outstanding original condition.

NOTE: These seats still presently reside at the Vecsey home in Long Island NY.  Mr. Vescey has agreed to allow the winning bidder to pick them up in person and meet him or is willing to deliver them in person to a location within the span from Maine to Virgina along the East Coast. Otherwise the buyer is responsible for third party shipping costs which could be substantial. The seats include a letter of provenance stating they come from the personal collection of Peter Vecsey.
