Outstanding original April 18 1950 opening day 8" by 10" wire photo of Hall of Fame rivals Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio signed by both with inscriptions on the matte below. Beautiful image of both players from the waist up at Fenway Park. Vintage blue ink signatures rate about 8-9/10 for Williams and 7-8/10 for DiMaggio in quality. Williams has written "To a great fellow Cy Best always Ted Williams. DiMaggio says "To my friend CY with warmest personal regards from Joe DiMaggio". Great condition photo is matted in a vintage frame. On back the original caption has been glued to the paper. It states "BIG GUNS FOR BIG OPENER Approximately $200000 worth of slugging talent grins in the spring sunshine at Fenway Park Boston today (April 18) as ted Williams of the Red Sox and Joe DiMaggio of the New York Yankees prepare to start first game of the American League season". Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
