Directly from the family estate collection of Barney Stein comes this large-format 11" by 14" original photograph of Johnny Podres and the Brooklyn Dodgers celebrating on the field at Yankee Stadium after the final out of the 1955 World Series. Podres needed just two runs in a masterful complete-game shutout in Game 7 as 'Dem Bums finally got sweet revenge over their cross-town A.L. rivals. Fans stormed the field and mobbed Podres (mouth agape on the left) as Russ Meyer (#34) tried to make his way through the crowd to embrace the star pitcher. A swarm of photographers and journalists are seen trying to capture this crazy moment, the franchise's only World Series won in Brooklyn.The momentous original photo, entitled "The Ecstasy" by Stein, was printed off its original negative from the famous Dodgers photographer's camera many years later. The reverse has a Barney Stein red stamp.
