This lot offers an important on-site fight poster from the November 30, 1979 bout between Sugar Ray Leonard and Welterweight Champion Wilfred Benitez. The poster measures 22"x28" and remains in great condition. Sugar Ray Leonard ended the fight in the fifteenth round via TKO. The WBC World Welterweight title fight was held at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. This would be Leonard's first title fight and would lead to him receiving "Fighter of the Year" awards from the Boxing Writers Association and The Ring. Vito Antuofermo and Marvin Hagler are also included on this fight card. Their bout went to a controversial draw in the World Middleweight Title match. The poster features some minor edge wear but does not detract from the overall importance and nice eye appeal of the poster overall.
