Nick Faldo is an English professional golfer on the European Tour who now frequently serves as an on-air golf analyst. His 40 professional wins include 30 victories on the European Tour and six major championships: three Open Championships (1987 90 and 92) and three Masters (1989 90 and 96). A top player of his era renowned for his single-minded dedication to the game he was ranked No. 1 on the Official World Golf Ranking for a total of 97 weeks.
This lot features a set of nine Spalding Top Flight irons and a PowerBilt putter used by the three-time Masters champ. The custom made irons (2 through 9 plus a pitching wedge) show incredible wear and sport rubber grips and Precision-branded metal shafts. Every one of the irons is engraved N.F. on the back of the club heads. They all are serial numbered CI32324 in white on their respective black hosels. The accompanying PowerBilt HB putter (model P10) measures 35.5 in length and sports a metal shaft and leather-wrapped grip that shows considerable wear.
At the height of his career Faldo was noted for being remarkably composed in the biggest moments and intimidating his opponents. He was known to wear down the opposition and almost force other players to buckle under the pressure. Therefore these clubs were used by one of golfs greatest and coolest players.
