A more imposing foursome of New York Yankee greats outside of Babe Ruth Lou Gehrig Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle would be hard to find. With a combined 2104 home runs to their credit these four players were some of the feared hitters in the annals of professional baseball. This lot features a unique oil on canvas original painting by renowned sports artists Doo. S. Oh who has captured the four sluggers all either leaning on or holding their preferred weapons of pitching destruction. Oh shows all four players posing alongside each other with Yankee Stadiums bleachers and scoreboard in the background. He has added utilized black white and gray colors to illustrate the old leftfield stands with a gradual shift to color as he makes his way past Ruth and over to Gehrig DiMaggio and Mantle. Even the stands become more modern as the viewer eyes go from left field to right field and the advent of electrical lights became part of the stadiums motif for night games. The overall painted canvas stretches 47 wide by 38 high and Oh has signed the bottom right corner in orange paint.
